Welcome to OSL!
I'm Karina Lamb, an accomplished gallery and museum professional with the desire to respect, document and celebrate culture. Cross-cultural engagements; understanding cultural protocols and establishing trusting relationships that allow for mutually beneficial partnerships, is strong throughout my career. I thrive on working with artists, communities and local governments to produce visual and written content that engages, educates, and impacts audiences.
I am highly proficient in delivering online media strategies, particularly in the successful creation and delivery of digital marketing, from EDMs and website content to all-encompassing social media channel management. My specialty is in the delivery of detailed digital marketing strategies for cultural organisations and businesses.
An abiding passion for languages has inspired the development of a new method for managing indigenous languages within institutional collections management practices. The theoretical and practical ‘new’ system for the management of languages for source communities, curators and researchers has required extensive knowledge of specialist database systems and registration processes. The research will be released in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) thesis to be submitted in early 2018.
I hold a Master of Cultural Heritage and a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) with a double major in Photography and Visual Art Theory. My studies have supported my professional career working in the cultural sectors of universities, local governments and art organisations. Supporting the development of the Australian arts industry and collecting institutions is of paramount importance in my career.
